Description

Few of us tube maniacs will ever have seen this one in real: the UHF pulse transmitting triode REL5 which was used in the Chain Home Low radar system during WWII. The Chain Home Low was one of the major reasons this war was won by the good guys!

The offered tube has survived for more than 70 years now, most of its time sitting in a rotten military warehouse, this is why the outer metal box has some rust. Other than that this tube is in immaculate condition. Still hanging in its box like it was mounted by Westinghouse employees during WWII. Quite likely, that it came to the Continent shortly after D-Day. So this is quite a historic piece!

We can guarantee that this item is unused and untouched, but we cannot guarantee that is fully functioning after all these years. We simply do not have any means to test it…
